Just had a few thoughts of what your plans might be for the future here. Seeing how every shard started by Dreams have failed. Have you done any changes? Im guessing this is a POL shard so my guess is you are vulnerable to Ddos attacks aswell?
A problem in the future might be that the shard goes back and forth, online/offline until its no fun anymore.
Do you still need to macro 1 week to get full skills or is it atleast 2000% faster?.
Anyway wish you the best with the shard really. Fun to see how Zulu shards keeps popping up after all theese years .
skill gain has been increased, it already wasnt bad (not sure about warrs people were complaining)
Hard to determine econonmy. small houses and yuccas are cheap, but the rest of he houses are expensive. wont see an economy until we get more playerbase and the shard progresses. never was an economy on ZHV, items meant everything, but here loot is going to be bumped ao hopefully you can eventually buy gm armor/ weps and books.
Yes it is Pol based. good idea, i know a zulu shard from a long time ago was run off of government servers to prevent ddos. not sure what the plan is here.
well, this shard wasn't started by dreams we have boosted skill gain and will be implementing better loot drops in the near future. we also have protections in place to help against ddoss and we aren't even a full month open so there really is no economy as of right now honestly
I understand this is a new shard, and its good to hear you have protection against ddos attacks. Fast skill gain is also good. To make it even faster though. Would you consider adding power hour? It's a slight concern that you will add better loot drops actually. Because what I meant by economy is that instead of having costs at 100 million for a house (Im exaggerating here) you can have a house for 100 000 but make gold rarer and have higher costs for reagents (mages usually collect alot of gold right?). What makes an economy is that you spend money at the same time as you collect them. An increase in loot drops would decrease trades between players too.
Obviously you don't understand the loot. I'm going to assume you didn't play on ZHV, therefore, you really don't know how bad it was. I hunted 100's of hours, killing ridiculously high end bosses and only ever received 1 gm wep, like 5 gm armor, and no nbook/ebook. It was broken, plain and simple. People who were lucky enough to find a swift vanq would be very careful with it; never go out and pk, there was no interaction with players outside of towns, no economy because there was nothing to sell. people got bored of hunting a lot sooner than I did and left the shard, and it died off because the loot was too low. And the people with nbook/ebook were staff with mortals, and one player who was lucky enough to find one right before the loot was changed. Better loot means people will have 4-5 sets of armor/weps and will actually go out and pk, which, from what I remember, was the best part of Zuluhotel. Something to think about, thinker.
First off you are right, I dont think I played ZHV. If you killed thoose high end bosses alone then it was already broken. But lets asume that you didnt. Sounds to me that what was lacking was players and not balance. Being careful with rare items is exactly how it should be played. And what do you mean like 5 GM armors? I never had 1 complete set. But I got by with crafted armors. There wasnt any spec 4/5 crafters on ZHV? You all wanted GM armor to go outside town? I dont mean it shouldnt be impossible to find stuff.. but maybe the best stuff should be hard to find..? 4-5 sets of GM armor/weapons.. man geez... isnt it more fun to hunt down the person who has the best stuff then and gank him and steal his rare loot? There are ways to balance stuff and not having to think about the best gear all the time. Also give me a reason for this... why would I waste time playing on a shard where everyone runs around with the bests tuff? Give me a reason to play and why ADmins shouldnt have 100 armor/weapons set right from the start? Cause it sure sounds to me like thats where you need this shard to be in order for it to be "fun". What you want is an arena shard where you can duel people and not having to be worried about loosing stuff. I mean hey.. everyone is free to have their opinion and I havent started playing yet so if this is the type of shard it aims to be then Im cool with that. Its just good to get some answers.
the changes i have made in loot are this: a level ten monster should not drop adept and below items.. very hard monsters for bad loot. but what that did was increase master/gm/legendary drops. loot is broken down into levels 1 through 10 (one being ruin, ten being legendary) it also has to end up at 100% so if i take say 25% off of adept, that 25% has to go somewhere in the master/gm/legendary drops which means that those items would drop more. i haven't implemented the loot drop percents yet because of that. it may be too much. and it takes hours to change all the drop rates so i am reluctant to make it so much more than it is. although i know loot sucks bad right now. i raised the skill gain considerably from ZHV and although easier to change than loot drops i do not want to spend once a month editing levels of loot or skill gain. i, personally do not want an arena shard, its a ZH shard and i would like it to stay that way but i also agree that some skills were slow (which i changed) and that loot is bad but not terrible. an economy would be nice but with 25-20 people on and all macroing their just isn't one right now. only 3 or 4 people are actively hunting anything as of right now. i do agree increased loot drops takes away from players trading and selling said items.
also i don't think he meant 4 or 5 gm sets of armor but 4 to 5 pieces of gm armor
thinker why don't you register an account on the forums and check the shard out? macro, hunt a little and give us some feed back, would be appreciated
yup to clarify 5 gm armor pieces. and i had acually found an xbow. stygian and 100% ele fury castrate. it was the only way to kill the high end mobs, and he high end tmaps often were done with 3-4 players. it was really gay to get expert items after killing 10 lvl 10 mobs. so yeah it was broken. i did a fuckig shitload of hunting. i dont think the staff there wanted to admit it but there had to be abuse. players had like gm and max stat properties on adamantium clothes(1 piece). and a super sages robe the same fucking day it was implemented (Roehler).
